School & testing
Standardized test
A test given and scored the same way for every student, to compare against a standard.
A standardized test is administered and scored consistently so results can be compared to a grade-level benchmark. Most states give one each spring in grades 3-8 (for example STAAR, CAASPP, or FAST). It measures grade-level skills, not the test itself.
