Children's Privacy Notice

KangarooKiddo ("KangarooKiddo," "we," "us") is operated by PerfSpot LLC. This notice explains, in plain language, what we collect about your child, how we use it, and how you stay in control. It is written for the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

The parent owns the account

You create and control the account. Children do not sign up, do not have their own login, and cannot create a profile. You add a child profile and you start each tutoring session.

What we collect about your child

Only what is needed to run short tutoring sessions: a nickname you choose, your child's approximate age or grade, optionally a reading or math level, and your child's answers and progress in the tutor. We do not collect your child's full name, email, phone, address, school, exact birthday, photos, or stored audio or video.

Tutoring messages

Your child's tutoring answers are used to teach, adapt difficulty, and track progress. If your child speaks an answer, the audio is converted to text to check the answer and the recording is then discarded. We keep at most the text. The tutor reminds kids not to share personal details, and we strip obvious personal information from any free text.

How we use it

Only to operate the tutor: run sessions, adapt to your child, track progress against grade-level standards, and award the points you approve.

Who we share it with

Service providers that run the app for us (hosting and database, the speech-to-text and text-to-speech providers, file storage, and email to you). They act on our behalf and may use the information only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your child's information, we do not use it for advertising, and there are no third-party ad trackers in the child experience.

Your consent and controls

When you create the account and add a child profile, you consent to the collection described here. From the parent dashboard, or by contacting us, you can at any time see what we have collected about your child, delete your child's profile and tutoring history, stop further collection, and revoke consent. Deleting the profile removes the data.

Retention and security

We keep your child's information only as long as needed to run the service, and delete it when you delete the profile or close the account. We do not store voice recordings. We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest and with access controls appropriate to its sensitivity.

Changes and contact
